About the Film:

Directed by Kazuya Nomura. Japan. 2015. 100 min.

Ghost in the Shell is revered as one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises of all time. For more than 25 years it has continued to deliver a compelling story and artistic experience that keeps fans coming back for more. The 2014 release of the series Ghost in the Shell: Arise gave fans the opportunity to dig into the origin stories of these characters they know and love so much. This November, Ghost in the Shell: The Movie, brings those stories to a close with an action-packed theatrical release that will blow audiences away—just like the original film did more than two decades ago. The continuation of the Ghost in the Shell: Arise story arc involves the assassination of the Prime Minister of Japan, which is publicly described as the "greatest event since the war." It is up to Public Security Section 9, led by Major Motoko Kusanagi, to discover the true nature of the murder with the help of the Prime Minister’s son and aide.
