About the Lecture:
Part of public programming for Mo‘olelo: Visual Storytelling of Our Connection to the Land.
This panel brings together contemporary artist and University of Hawai‘i at Manoa Department of Art Chair, Gaye Chan; contemporary photographer, Wayne Levin; and Matt Mallams, photographer and Photo Editor of Hana Hou Magazine to discuss the role of photography in contemporary culture. The discussion, moderated by photographer and HoMA School instructor, Scott Kubo, will explore the topic of social media photography and its impact(s) on the environment. This lecture is held in conjunction with the exhibition Mo‘olelo: Visual Storytelling of Our Connection to the Land at the Honolulu Museum of Art School Gallery.
