Book Club: Invented Symbols: An Art Autobiography

Gather round the larger-than-life painting of Ada Katz to discuss the autobiographical memoir of the artist Alex Katz, a man obsessed with painting his wife. Raised in Brooklyn by Russian parents, Katz has had more than 200 solo exhibitions and he continues in New York to this day. Led by Docent Elizabeth Lowery.
The museum's Book Club tour is held the last Wednesday and Saturday of each month, 1-3pm
For this two-hour docent-led experience, books are selected to connect with the museum’s works of art.
Participants discuss the book in a relevant gallery.
