Book Club: My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk
Wednesday Sep 25 01:00 PM Saturday Sep 28 01:00 PM
Honolulu Museum of Art
In Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk’s novel, a sultan in 16th-century Istanbul commissions artists of his day to illuminate in the Western manner a book about his life and empire. One of the artists is murdered—is the motive romantic jealousy, rivalry or religious terror? Led by docents Dietra Cordea and Catherine Levinson.
The museum's Book Club tour is held the last Wednesday and Saturday of each month, 1-3pm. For this two-hour docent-led experience, books are selected to connect with the museum’s works of art.
Participants discuss the book in a relevant gallery.
Free with museum admission.
