Have double the fun
For the first time, the Honolulu Museum of Art holds Bank of Hawaii Family Sunday in tandem with its annual ArtSpree event at Spalding House in Makiki Heights. What this means for the public is a double dose of art, performances, and food! Take a free shuttle bus up to Spalding House for more art-and-music fun!

ART ACTIVITIES

Chinese drums
Guests can join artist Maika‘i Tubbs to construct a Chinese drum of plastic containers, beads, string and a chopstick. Then little artists can go crazy and decorate them with paint, sequins and markers.

Tambourines
Artists Ryan and Nicole Higa help kids make a tambourine using paper plates and metal bottle caps to go with their Chinese drums!

ENTERTAINMENT

FAMILY FILM SUNDAY

The museum gives contestants a theme and drawing supplies.
The winner receives a Supporting Membership to the Honolulu Museum of Art (worth $100), and his or her artwork is used to create the following month’s event brochure and is posted on the museum's website.
